UK-wide Geoconservation Annual Gathering, Edinburgh

This is an event for members of geoconservation groups and all involved in local sites across the UK, and for earth scientists interested in becoming involved in geoconservation.

The Gathering will focus on local, practical geoconservation, and will allow participants to learn more about local sites, consider case studies including Geodiversity Audits and the designation of Local Geodiversity Sites, and meet others who help monitor and celebrate local sites.

Lesley Dunlop, Chair of the GeoConservation UK, and Colin MacFadyen of SNH will be among those making presentations, to be followed by discussion groups around current issues and case studies.

At 12 noon the GeoConservation UK AGM will take place. Following the Gathering which runs from 13.30 to 17.30, there will be a Civic Reception at 18.00.
